10 Commandments of Internet Business Blogging

Actually it not even a list, It’s just 2 commandments. From these two commandments we come up with just one rule- The Golden Rule of Internet Business Blogging. If you obey  this rule you’ll find that you’ll also be able to keep the 10 commandments of Internet business blogging.

First, the list of 2 commandments of Internet Business Blogging

The 10 Commandments of Internet Business Blogging can be summed up in these 2 commands:

1st Commandment:

Put 1st things first- Establish your priorities. Love God. Find your passion. Have a purpose in life and in your internet business.

This website is entitled, “Internet Business with Purpose”. One of the purposes of this website is to help you develop a purpose in your own internet business. This comes by finding your passion. Find your passion and you’ll find your purpose.

2nd Commandment:

Consider other people. Love others, put them before yourself. Your blog should be a help to others. It’s not just about you. Most people are more interested in themselves than about you. Provide a service to them.

I provide internet business resources on this blog. They are designed to benefit my visitors. What service do you provide? How does your blog benefit others?

You know the golden rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” (Based on Matthew 7:12)

Now For the Golden Rule of Internet Business Blogging:

“Find Your Passion and Turn it Into a Service to Others”

As you can see, I’ve simply combined the 2 commandments of business blogging to form the Golden Rule of Blogging.

What do you want?

If you already know what you want then you know what type of service you should be providing to your visitors:

Do you want more information on internet business success? Give away information.

Do you want to be treated with respect? Respect your visitors.

Do you want to have a popular blog? Help make someone else’s blog popular by contributing to it.

Do you want to make money blogging? Teach others how to make money blogging.

The Golden rule when doing business on the internet is ”Do unto others as you have them do unto you..” In other words, give away what you would like to receive.

That’s how you can become a success in business. You’re most like already passionate about a subject, now provide a service to the internet by making available resources and information about your passion.

The author also provides this disclaimer which I totally agree with:

Disclaimer: While I’m a Christian myself I do not want to hurt anyone’s religious feelings. The metaphor of the commandments is not meant to disrespect the real ten commandments, in contrast, it’s to highlight the need for ethics in every discipline even such a worldly one like blogging for business purposes. To my Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, agnostic and other readers: This is also not a way to disrespect any other religion as inferior. It’s just a way of explaining things.
