Dec 31st is a time when people are making New Year’s resolutions. I’m NOT going to give you a specific plan to quit smoking or to lose weight today.
If you have the flu which is the best option?
- a. take an aspirin because your head hurts
- b. take an antibiotic to help fight off the infection
The wiser person will try and cure the problem by getting to the root cause of it.. Likewise, If you want to succeed in your resolutions, dreams, plans, goals, business or in any area of your life you need to form a good basis for achieving this success.
For me this season is a time of continuing and improving my goals, vision, and mission in life by concentrating on core values.. I use my internet business as one of the means of accomplishing these goals. But if all other areas of my life are in shambles my online business will most likely reflect these failures.
Why To Have An Internet Business
My internet business is just part of my life purpose.
Why should you have an internet business? Do you have a purpose for having an online business? For that matter do you have a purpose in your personal life or that of your family and friends? As I said, an internet Business can be one component for developing purpose and achieving success in life and business.
Some of the reasons people have internet businesses are:
- To Make Money
- To have more freedom to enjoy life
- Because they are tired of working to accomplish someone goals and want to fulfill their own dreams
- Because they enjoy being in control of their own business
- Because they enjoy what they are doing
The Purpose of My Internet Business
I use my internet business as a means to free me up financially to complete my mission in life. (I said it again)
Accomplishing My Purpose in Life and Business
Over the Christmas holidays we were able to give out shoes and toys to over 2600 needy Indian children in Chiapas Mexico where I live. While I raised up some of the funds through donations from caring individuals I also used my own time, finances and efforts to complete the task.
I would of had a hard time doing this if I was working for a company or in a vocational job.
My internet business gives me the freedom to work when I like and provides me with the income to support my family while I am completing my life’s mission. God has a plan for my life and I want to fulfill his plan. My internet business is just one of the vehicles for completing this plan.
Success in Life and Business
What is success for me? ( My Mission in Life)
Success , for me, is more than just financial gain. I listed some more components of success below.
I. PERSONAL: WHAT DO I WANT TO BE? (character)
- Knowing God as my best friend.
- Becoming like Christ in character and values.
- Developing and using the abilities God gave me.
- Maintaining my health and energy to do God’s will
- Being wise and balanced.
ll. MY FAMILY
- Having those who know me best respect me most.
- Meeting my wife, Ana’s needs so well that she never has to look elsewhere.
- When my child, Cristi, leaves home, she will…
- – love God with all her heart
- – have Biblical convictions about right & wrong
- – have high self-esteem and feel loved
- – have identified her gifts and life purpose
- Honoring my parents, and Ana’s by caring for them in old age as they did for us growing up.
III. VOCATIONAL OR ENTREPRENEURIAL
- Fulfilling my call and using my gifts as an internet business owner, entrepreneur, missionary, or wherever he might place me.
- Leading by example and empowering others to do the same in their given internet business or ministry.
IV. MINISTRY
The following is an outline of the purpose of my ministry. I use my internet business as a means of funding my ministry. My ministry is a way of serving others.
- Planting Churches (to attack spiritual lostness)
- Equipping Servant leaders (to attack ego-centric leadership)
- Assisting the Poor (to attack poverty)
- Care for the sick (to attack disease)
- Educating the next Generation (to attack illiteracy and minister to children)
