Internet Business Resources – January 2010

by Greg Nemer

During the month of January I found some nice resources for internet businesses. Most of them are free but there is couple paid products mentioned with my affiliate link. I want to share them with you-

Make use of

MakeUseOf.com

You can really make use of the information on this website. I found it while doing a search for more information on keyboard shortcuts for my new IMac.

They offer such a large list of cheat-sheets and downloads when you sign up for their mailing list that you want be able to resist. (not an affiliate link). Make Use Of covers everything from cool software, websites, and internet tips.

This site kind of reminds me of Smashing Magazine.com which is for web designing and also one of my favorites.

Feed Validator.org

Here’s a very useful website that I really should write a blog post about. I found it when I noticed that my RSS feed wasn’t validating. The reason- I had directly copied and pasted a bunch of junk code when I wrote a blog post using Microsft Word. (A real no-no)

This website will reveal the errors on your website (If you have a feed set up). Just find the highlighted areas and correct the errors.Roadmap To Become a Better Blogger

The Free pdf book is excellent. There’s 10 great videos with some great tips for starting a blog for free. There’s a very informative video on How To Get more Blog Traffic and even an $1 special to try out the premium series once it’s released in a couple of days.

Skitch.com

A great  program for MAC users to share and edit images. It’s free and top of the line.

Mingle Wordpress Plugin

This free wordpress plugin will help you turn your blog into a social network. It’s easy to install and simple to use. I installed it a GregNemer.com. It comes from Blair Williams who is the author of one of my favorite wordpress plugins- The Free Pretty Link Plugin.. there’s also a paid version Called Pretty Link Pro which allows you to cloak and track links.

Superstickies

Make your own sticky note picture like the one below and save it to your computer or send it to your flickr account. There’s a lot more free sand similar tools for the web at wigflip.com ’s main web pageEssential Software Tips To Boost Your Internet Business

I hope these resources help you as me as they have me.
