After years of not using Quicken anymore for my personal and business finances I decided that it was now time to do so. Well at least I am going to give them a try. However, What if their software is not exactly what I need. It’s best to use their free trial. Quicken clearly offers a free 60-day trial for its online subscription version of Quicken 2008, buy they weren’t very forthcoming about any trials for their old-school downloadable-software versions.

After doing some research on Google for a few minutes – I found a link to a trial version for Quicken Deluxe 2008 – Here it is: Quicken Deluxe 2008 Free Trial
That said, I really wanted to try out the Home & Business version – which I couldn’t find anything about. After some further “advanced research” (guessing URLs) – I hit the jackpot and came up with links for various Quicken 2008 Trials.
Here’s all of the instant download links:

- Quicken Starter Edition 2008 Free Trial

Just a quick update to my article on downloading quicken. After downloading Quicken Deluxe, I also found that you can easily upgrade to Quicken Home and Business from the options that It gives you in set-up.
Maybe that’s why the Home and Business trial is so hard to find on the internet.
Canadian version or US?
Hi Ultra,
All of the links are for the US version of Quicken
You have saved me hours of internet searching – thank you for generously posting the websites for quicken.
Your Welcome Nicole, glad I could be of help.

I clicked on your link for the free trial version of home & business to it went to the page that I just came from where you buy the software; I did not see a free trial area.
I am thinking of using the 2010 H & B instead of the online version of Quickbooks for my business. Any thoughts?
Hi Heather,
Hey I just checked the link and you’re right, it doesn’t work. I’ll have to do some more research.
That said, the links above it work. After downloading Quicken Deluxe, I also found that you can easily upgrade to Quicken Home and Business from the options that It gives you in set-up.
So just go that route.
On the downloadble version as opposed to the online version it really depends on your needs. If you have more than 1 computer then it’s obviously better to go with the online version. I think quicken is moving more and more towards the online version anyways.
Also, thanks for singing up for my email list.:-)
Thank you so much,
This saved me quite a lot of time searching for the programs.
Thanks so much!
