In the following video my daughter and I go through the few first steps you need to accomplish as soon as your WordPress blog is installed.
After you install your WordPress Blog you need to set up your custom settings.
If you missed the previous video on How To Install WordPress From Your Web Host’s Cpanel you’ll want to go back and view it since you must have your blog already installed to set up the custom settings.
The first change I usually make is in my general settings. Once you log in to your WordPress dashboard navigate to “settings” and then “general”.
There you can change the name of your website, the tagline, your email address and a few other options.
You’ll also want to change your custom permalink structure to %postname%. Watch the following video for an easy to understand explanation of these first steps..
