Knowing how to find and pick the right opportunities is also known as finding your niche. You are about to learn some proven methods to actually find your passion and define your purpose. Another term for “finding your passion” is “Finding your Niche” . The word “Niche” is derived from a French term and is often pronounced as “Nitch”. In the United States. However the correct pronunciation should be “Neeshe”. You may have heard of the word “niche” and know precisely what a niche is and you might have heard the term and have no idea what it means. Chances are, if you have any knowledge about internet marketing, you have heard of it. The term niche is bandied about these days with incredible frequency and there is a reason for it.

So what is a niche market?

A niche market is simply a focused targeted portion (subset) of a market sector (Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). It is a specific category or topic that allows you to strategically plan your marketing campaign because you can target consumers who are interested in your specific niche. You know who you are looking for, the people who are looking for your niche, and the internet makes it very easy to make yourself visible to those people. Niche marketing on the internet is the best way to make an amazing online income and you can do so while working in a field or area that holds meaning for you.

Profitable Niches?

Now, there are many marketers out there who will tell you to go out and find the most profitable niches and build an online business centered on those. This is certainly a viable option. However, there are two drawbacks to this approach. One is that these profitable niches are probably loaded with competition and it will take you an incredible amount of resources to be successful. Can it be done? Of course! But will you like it?
This brings me to the second drawback to this approach. If you just pick from the most profitable niches, you very likely will end up working in a niche that holds very little or no meaning for you personally. This means that you will not have any real passion for the subject matter of your website and that lack of passion will show through. Your internet business will feel like work, not fun.

Since this is one of the hardest areas for someone to begin with, I am going to go into quite a bit of detail to aid you in finding your true passion in Life. Some of these areas may or may not light your fire. But hopefully, we can at least generate a few ideas that you are fired up about.

Just Use What You’ve Got.

Are you using the God given gifts that are within you?

There’s a Danish proverb that says, “What you are is God’s gift to you; what you do with yourself is your gift to God “, Use your gifts, maximize on them, and share them. If you don’t have it you can’t use it, but if you don’t use it you may lose it.

If you don’t have the gift, then you are not expected to use it. You won’t even be happy trying. When you attempt to go into a market that is not part of your particular gift or calling you will become frustrated and will only produce limited results. It’s a waste of your time, your talent, and your energy.
Clarify what you’ve got- your God given gifts, talents and your abilities, then use what you’ve got.

Follow your Heart

Consider your heart and your personality. Explore who you are, investigate your personality, get to know yourself. Ask yourself questions:

What do I really enjoy doing most?
When do I feel the most fully alive?

So follow your Heart, listen to it. Follow that voice inside of you, the Holy Spirit within you, look to your inner-man, and consult your subconscious mind. The important thing is that your passion, your niche, should consist of your:

desires,
hopes,
interests,
ambitions,
dreams,
and affections.

All that you have, all that you are, all that is within you Your heart represents the source of all your motivations-what you love to do, what is important to you, and what you care about most.

Even today we still use the word “heart” in this way, Have you ever said, “I love you with all my heart.”?

Ask God

There is a Bible verse that I really like. It says “ Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires your heart (psalm 37:4)”.

Desire is synonymous with purpose. Most people really like it because it tells them that God is going to give them something- the desires of their heart. I really like it because it tells me that God is going to do something else- He is going to place His desires, His purposes within me. His desires are my desires and my desires are his desires.

God actually enjoys giving me good things- riches, honor, enduring wealth, prosperity.

Instead of Asking, “What is my purpose, or what is my niche?“ Why not try asking, “What is God’s purpose for my life, Or “God, what Niche do you think I should go into? Make His purpose, your purpose.

Ask Others

So what do you really want? What fulfills your desires? If you don’t know, just ask another person, preferably someone who knows you best. Others love it when you give them a chance to give state their opinion or to give advice.
Consider these questions:

What would my family and friends say is the driving force of my life?
What would they say characterizes me as a person?
What am I known for?

Go ahead, ask someone.

Some of my favorite people to ask include my parents, my teachers, my spiritual advisors, and my closest friends. Sometimes, I even ask my wife what she thinks!

Get a Coach

Read Books

I couldn’t begin to tell you the ideas that I’ve come up with when reading a book. What’s strange is that the author may be speaking on one subject and I come up with an idea that is entirely different as a result of reading what that person has to say.

Even if you are remotely interested in a subject, read about it. You may find that you are really passionate about it or the author may help to spark that passion in you.

I should also mention that if you are like me and you travel a lot or don’t wont to make the time to read buy the book in an audio format. I really enjoy listening to a good book while driving.

Just do it

Fianlly, here’s one of the very best ways that I have found to discover my passion:

Just do it.

How do you know that you like or don’t like something until you’ve tried it. I have heard a lot of stories about some very good golf pros who, before they actually tried golf, said that” golf is the stupidest game in the world, chasing a little ball all over the place is dumb.” Once they tried it, they fell in love with the game, they even became a pro at their passion. Doing an activity is very often the very best way of discovering your gifts and callings in life.
