How To Evaluate Your Passion in Business

Ready to discover your passion in Business?

Here are some characteristics to evaluate to discover your passion in business:

Life’s Experiences

One of the best ways is by looking at the experiences you have had as a person.

Life experiences help you to characterize who you are as a person.

So here are a few more questions to ask yourself:

  • How could I help others by sharing about my past experiences?
  • What positive experiences In my life may be of particular interest to someone else?
  • Have I been through some difficult circumstance in life that others would be interested in?

Knowledge

What do you know?

Have you learned anything that you can share with others?

When someone opens the Dictionary to research a given topic is your picture there under that heading?

Knowledge is a good way to discover your niche.

Passion

Combining your knowledge with your life experiences should aid you in defining your passion.

That is the key word here – passion.  When deciding upon your niche, you will enjoy your work and your internet business far more if it is something about which you are passionate.  It is very common for people to begin something and not follow through.  When you start a new business, as with any type of project you will find that the initial energy will keep you moving.  However, this initial energy will die down and when it does, many people simply stop moving forward.  This is less likely to happen if you are working with a passion.

When you are working in a niche that you love, you will feel more motivated to keep things moving and get yourself out there. You will feel more inclined to keep pushing forward because you will feel like there is so much you want others to know and you want to share that knowledge with as many people as possible.

Excitement

Let’s go one step further, Let’s talk about what actually excites you. When we talk about excitement, I am not referring to it in the sense of how looking at that dream date made you feel (Infatuated). I am not even talking about what makes you happy. Happiness is temporary.

So what excites you? Let’s look at this for a moment. . What is the opposite of happiness? Is it sadness? Not exactly, sadness is the big picture, let’s get bring it home even closer.

Just as love and hate are often time ambiguous. ‘I love to hate you” or “I hate loving you”. It’s like a two sided coin. The same can be said for happiness and sadness. Have you ever cried because you were so happy?  I’ll get off my soapbox in just a moment, but not before we look at this:

Can it be said that the opposite of love is indifference?

And if so, what is the opposite of happiness?

Boredom, apathy,& just a plain ole unimportant, don’t care, state of being.

If your chosen subject is boring to you it will most certainly come off as boring to your potential customers, even if it was originally an an exciting topic.

The entire reason that I am telling you this is because excitement is the more practical synonym for happiness, and that is precisely what I want you to feel when you think about your niche market. So when you are searching for keywords that define your niche, make sure that these emotions accompany them:

  • Happiness
  • Passion
  • Excitement

If you find  a niche that gives you the above feeling…. then you will find Joy which is the only permanent state of being that comes from discovering your real life’s purpose.

Questions To Ask About Passion in Business

So that brings us back to questions that we should be asking ourselves.

Don’t just ask,

  • “What do I like or enjoy?”
  • or “What are gives me pleasure?”

But ask yourself

  • “What would excite me?”
  • and “How can I convey that excitement to others?”
  • And finally in the end “What would give me joy?”

Get inside your own mind to discover your Passion

So the Question is, “What is my purpose, what’s my passion, what’s my niche?

Ask yourself what constantly occupies your mind. Do some brainstorming. .Do you wake up in the morning and go to sleep at night thinking of something in particular? Here is a list of questions you can ask yourself to help determine a niche that might work for you:

  • Do I have any hobbies?
  • Do I have any special interests?
  • Am I passionate about a particular charity or movement?
  • Am I an expert in anything?
  • Do I have any specialized training in anything?
  • What sports do I enjoy playing?
  • Do my family or friends think you I am particularly good at something?
  • Is there anything that I am interested in and would like to know more about?

Having said all of this, you might have a passion for all things new and just looking for the profitable niches in which you know you can make money might be just up your alley.  You might have a passion for breaking into a niche, making money, and learning about something new.  In this case, go for it!  Just remember that if you don’t know what you are talking about in a specific niche, your customers will see right through you.

Confirming your Passion

How can you get a true estimate of your capabilities?

An accurate method of assessing your gifts, your talents, and your abilities is by looking at what you are good at and what other people tell you that you’re good at. Be honest with yourself and try to get honest opinions from others. Usually your closest friends, or your spouse can give you a confirmation concerning your natural abilities.

What have other people told you that you are good at? That’s a confirmation.

Where have you already been successful? Did you win a prize, or receive an award? -Confirmation.
