Common Sense Business Philosophy Concepts [Video ]The following personal development video was delivered by Jim Rohn.

On December 5th, 2009 Jim Rohn passed away.

If you’ve never heard of Jim Rohn, now’s a good time to look at his work.

Jim Rohn Video and Notes

This 7 minute clip by Jim Rohn is one of my favorites. It solves 99% of all business and life problems. In it Jim Rohn shares what he learned from a friend.

Jim Rohn Video Notes

I jotted down a few nuggets from the video. I think they’ll be  very useful to you:

Timing has a lot to do with everything and who knows the mystery of time.

The problem with wanting to buy something:

  • No Problem- I want to buy
  • Big-Problem- I don’y have the money to buy

Someone says, “When the student is ready the teacher will appear”. I don’t know all of the mystery of that.

Put your ideas and experience in very simple language.

  • Simplicity is important. If something is technical I might miss it. If it is mystical I might back away.
  • Basic  ABC ideas that You haven’t thought of before can change your life

The Problem With Your Paycheck:

When you get your paycheck and see the amount on it, don’t complain and say- “This is all the company pays.”

Thats not true. That is all the company pays YOU.

Doesn’t the company pay others 2, 3, 4. 5 times that amount?  yes

If you qualified, wouldn’t the company pay you more? yes

We don’t have to work on the company, we have to work on you.

The problem with your paycheck is not the amount, it’s you.

This is the beginning of “Personal development”.

It’s not, “Things cost too much”. The new concept is “You can’t afford them”

We put some of the more valuble things on the high shelf so you can’t get to them until you qualify.

If you want some of the more valuable things, you’ve got to a stand on the books you read.  Every book you read, you get to stand a little higher so you can get the more valuable things on the higher shelf.

This phrase can change your life-

Success Is Something You Attract By The Person You’ve Become!

  • Success Is NOT something you pursue
  • It’s like chasing a butterfly. You  can’t quite catch it.
  • Success is something you attract by becoming an attractive person

Profits Are Better than wages.

  • How can you start working on both a living and a fortune?
  • Start part-time working on your fortune while you’re working full time on your living.
  • Profits are better than living. profits make you a fortune.
  • Don’t just get up and go to work to pay the rent, get up and go to work to make a fortune.

Reasons to Go To Work:

1st- To Make a living for the Family

2nd- To Make a fortune

You’re income is directly related to your philosophy, not to the economy.

Don’t keep hoping for the economy to change or cross your fingers. Change your philosophy

Don’t search for the exotic until you’ve discovered the basics..
