Basic Free Software for Internet Businesses

Before you start your journey to making money on the internet you should know about a few tools  and resources that are available for free to everyone who has  a computer. These tools will aid you tremendously not only in your internet business but also in your ease of use in computer basics.

Since I use these products, I sometimes take them for granted but they are very useful.

Firefox is the internet marketer’s choice for a web browser. The main reason is that there are so many add-ons available to enhance the performance of this web browser. If you are just using  Internet Explorer or Microsoft products, It may prove to be very eye opening to try out some of the other companies. Use this link to Switch to Firefox – for IE users.

Don’t get me wrong, Microsoft has some great products, one of which is “Word” and is still my choice for a word processor. I am saying this because if you are like I was when I first started out in the internet marketing business, I didn’t use anything except for what came on a new dell computer that I purchased. However through experience I learned that there are some excellent alternatives that can prove to be most productive. So for that reason I recommend Firefox.

Google Search

I am a Google Fan when It comes to search engines. I even use Google’s e-mail provider “Gmail” since it allows me to organize my email so effectively. Even if you prefer to use Internet Explorer, I highly recommend that you use Google search as your default search engine.

Google Toolbar

Google Toolbar with Page Rank. Google also provides a toolbar with some useful perks. This toolbar can be installed on either Internet Explorer or Firefox. One of the special features is the auto-fill feature for forms. I still use it today because it is so easy to use.

Another is the built in search bar. But I also find the page rank feature very useful. The page rank is Google’s view of the importance of the particular web page that you are viewing.

The rank is  are from 1-10 however I very seldom have seen anything that ranks more than a 5.

The Google Pack (Gmail)

Gmail is included in the Google Pack or you can just use it separately. I am a big fan of Gmail. It really helped me to get organized and since it is web based I can Access it from any computer fro anywhere where there is an internet connection.

Gmail and some nifty other programs are all included in the Google Pack . By the way, there is an excellent photo organizer called Picasa also included in the Google pack and it is also free.

Skype

I replaced my regular phone with this excellent service, 2 cents a minute long distance and free to other  Skype users. This is a great way to communicate with people from all over the world. I even use it for my WordPress Blog Installation Consultations and Coaching services.

PayPal

Paypal- You might as well get started with it now. It’s the easiest, most secure way that I know to purchase and sell on the internet with their fast, affordable and convenient online payment service for businesses of all sizes.
