Today I want to look at a blog from a person that I model my business after. www.TerryDean.org

The idea for this article comes from ProBlogger’s  31 Days To a Better Blog  -Analyze a Top Blog in Your Niche [Day 4: 31DBBB] Darren Rowse suggests that  One great way to learn a new skill is to spend time watching someone who is good at it. So let’s learn the Right Way to do an Internet business website.

A Review of TerryDean.org:

Content:

Terry Dean’s website is all about these 3 basic truths:

• You can have a profitable business.
• You can have free time to spend with your family.
• You can enjoy your business and your life.

The topic and slogan of his website is:, “Earn More. Work Less. Enjoy Life!”

He also emphasizes “The Intersection of Passion and Profits” which is also a goal of mine on this website.

Terry Dean makes posts on his website 2 or 3 times a week.  Terry Dean is the most honest internet marketer that I know of. Read my post on honest internet marketers.

He is full of wisdom and has a gift for explaining how to accomplish tasks in detail. He completely ignores any type of hype. He isn’t pushy in his advertising or sales methods. In fact, he gives so much information in his articles that his customers are always biting at the bit to purchase any of his new products.

Reader Engagement:

Terry’s instructional posts seem to generate the most interest. He has also written some lists which are very informative and seem to connect really well with his readers. I’ve noticed that the often ask questions about a specific point that he covered in his instructions.

Design:

Terry Dean is using a The Revolution News Theme from StudioPress Themes on his website. This WordPress theme is great for providing the featured post on the left hand column of the web page. The center column outlines 10 of the most recent posts.  The right hand side gives an opportunity to opt in to his mailing list, has some great featured videos and provides additional website information. Very seldom does Terry Dean include any advertisements in his web design. Terry Dean readily admits that he could add a  few more images to the blog posts but I think that the majority of his subscribers are mainly interested in the information that he gives and not necessarily his use of photos.

Monetization:
Terry Dean has a large list of email subscribers and makes his money from his relationship with the subscribers to his list. If Terry Dean promotes someone else’s product, which he seldom does, he’ll generate a lot of purchases because  the subscribers to his list trust his judgment concerning other products.

That said,  Mr. Dean doesn’t need to promote other people products. Terry Dean has some excellent products and I am a member of his affiliate program. I promote his products without hesitation because I know that they are the very best on the internet.

Traffic:

I headed over to Alexa (not always accurate) and found out  that the 3 month traffic rank for TerryDean.org is Currently at 65,538.

Alexa also gives some stats (not always accurate) on page views, time on site, sites linking in, bounce rate, where the audience is from (geographically), where people go on the site etc.

Modeling after Terry Dean.org

Obviously I’m attempting to find out what TerryDean.org is doing right so that I can model after him. Although I have a unique approach on this website which is adding “purpose” as a key ingredient to a successful online business,the  goal of this review is not to reinvent the wheel. A bit of wisdom is to imitate what other successful internet website business owners are doing correctly.

In fact, if you look at the content of this website you’ll discover that I am a member of  the Terry Dean’s Coaching Club.  I learn from him on a regular basis.
